Answer the letter on the drawings, not in an email.
Print this with the comment letter. Each row is a response skeleton: cite the section, say which sheet will show it, and list what is missing. Educational — not a sealed response and not an interpretation of your AHJ letter.
Use with typical comments and pre-submittal. Florida PE 95945 does not certify this pack against your project.
| Comment (plain English) | What the response should point to | Hub |
|---|---|---|
| Provide OA calculations | Occupancy, area, people, 401 vs 403 method on an M-sheet — not “OA per code.” | Ch. 4 |
| Type I vs Type II / grease duct | Menu → hood type. If any appliance needs Type I, the hood is Type I. 506 duct + 508 makeup. | Kitchen |
| Domestic hood over 400 cfm | MUA ≈ exhaust, damper, interlock. Or reclassify to 507 if it is commercial cooking. | 505 vs 507 |
| Makeup / transfer for exhaust-only rooms | 501.4 path drawn. Door undercuts are not a large-offset strategy. | 501.4 |
| Attic / crawl “ventilated per code” | NAT openings math or 0.02 cfm/ft² + supply + RH > 60%. | 406 |
| F/S damper where required | Name the assembly at each crossing. Schedule type, listing, access. | 607 |
| Exhaust outlet location | Dimension to intakes, openings, grade. Not attic/crawl. | 501.3 |
| Dryer duct | No screen, no screws in airstream, no fire damper. 12.5 in² open area. | 504 |
| Garage WH / furnace elevation | 18 in or FVIR. Vestibule where 304.3.1 triggers. | 304 |
| Hanger spacing / shield plates | Table 305.4 by material. 16-gage shields within 1-1/4 in of framing. Structure, not gypsum. | 305 |
| Condensate overflow | If the primary drain stops, where does the water go? | 307 |
| Chimney as a line on M-101 | 805 listed system vs 806 → NFPA 211. Draw the assembly. | 805 · 806 |
| Wrong code edition | Adopted FBC Mechanical, not 2024 IMC as Florida law. | FBC vs IMC |
Print (browser print). Then send the letter + marked sheets via intake.
If the letter has more than two of these
Send the comment letter and the sheets it cites. Masterbuild will say whether this is a note, a redraw, or a different code path.
