The County fee sheet is a category list. The surprise is a second application — a Type I hood buried on the rooftop-unit permit, or electrical Category 31 pulled for an AC swap with no mechanical application. - Mechanical. New, addition, or exact change-out are different rows. Commercial hoods are typically their own application. Tonnage, kW, appliances — not “lump sum HVAC.” Exact change-out greater than 15 tons still requires processing. One boiler horsepower on that sheet = 33,479 Btu/h. House Bill 803 does not exempt mechanical work.
- Electrical Category 31. Exact AC replacement is the electrical door. Same amperage does not delete the mechanical permit. Temp power, generators, and photovoltaic (PV) are their own categories. Special outlets 30 amp or greater are not a general receptacle. Elevator-test temp on that sheet is not the building service.
- Plumbing. A grease interceptor is not a P-trap. Condensate drain is its own row. Sanitary replacement, medical gas, and sewer connection are different doors from a fixture count. Natural gas and LP gas do not mix — gas is a separate application. Backflow 2 inch or less is not the 2½ inch assembly.
- Unpermitted work is not a cheaper category. Do not mobilize on a UP#.
- Fire Rescue is a second desk. See Fire second desk. Implementing Order 04-123 is not the building mechanical fee sheet. Up-front processing, double fee if work started without a fire permit, plans and access on inspection day, same-day cancellation. Smoke control and generator load-bank tests are often a special-request inspection. We do not quote Fire dollars — they change. Open the live Implementing Order the day you apply.

What to send
Scope (new / change-out / hood / temp / interceptor), tonnage or fixture count if you have it, folio, and whether any work started. We will say which door — not quote a fee.
