- Work started without a Fire permit is a double-fee path.
- Up-front processing is a percentage of the Fire permit (County-published as approximately 30 percent — confirm live), not refundable, credited to the final Fire fee.
- Hood, fire alarm, suppression, smoke control, generator load-bank, in-building radio enhancement are not “included in mechanical.” Count devices the way the Order counts them.
- Inspection day: plans and card on site, access, someone there, address correct, previous violations actually corrected. Same-day cancellation is a re-inspection path. Smoke-control and generator load-bank are often a special-request inspection on top of the test.

If mechanical is approved and Fire has never seen the hood
Send the occupancy and the hood/alarm story. Masterbuild will say whether Fire still has no row — not quote a Fire fee.
