A charbroiler does not get a 6-inch filter.
A Type I hood on the plan still fails in the field at the filter, the gutter, the NET exhaust, or the suppression. IMC 507.2.8–507.2.11: grease filters listed to UL 1046, height above the cooking surface, 45-degree mounting with a drip tray, gutters that drain to a cleanable receptacle, NET cfm (total exhaust minus air supplied into the hood cavity), and an approved automatic fire-suppression system per IBC 904.13 and the International Fire Code (IFC).

- 507.2.8: UL 1046 listed/labeled grease filters, access for cleaning/replacement. Table 507.2.8 minimum height from cooking surface to lowest filter edge: no exposed flame 0.5 ft (6 in); exposed flame/burners 2 ft; exposed charcoal/charbroil 3.5 ft.
- 507.2.8.1: size/arrange so airflow does not exceed approved ratings; removable without tools (unless clean-in-place); if removable, a size that fits a dishwasher or pot sink; no grease/condensate drip onto food or prep.
- 507.2.8.2: filters minimum 45 degrees from horizontal plus a drip tray under the lower edge.
- 507.2.9: grease gutters drain to an approved collection receptacle with access for cleaning.
- 507.2.10 NET exhaust = total exhaust minus any air supplied directly to the hood cavity. Mixed-duty appliances under one hood: size the whole hood to the highest-duty appliance. Minimum NET cfm per linear foot from the supplied 2024 IMC 507.2.10 content: extra-heavy wall 550 / single island 700 / double island 550 per side (no backshelf, no eyebrow); heavy wall 400 / single island 600 / double island 400 per side / backshelf 400; medium wall 300 / single island 500 / double island 300 per side / backshelf 300 / eyebrow 250.
- 507.2.11: Type I hoods require an approved automatic fire-suppression system per IBC 904.13 and the IFC. Coordinate it — do not leave it as a deferred note.

What to send
The cooking lineup (including any charbroiler or wok), the hood cut sheet, whether makeup air is supplied into the hood cavity, and who is carrying suppression.
If the charbroiler sits under a 6-inch filter
Send the lineup and the hood elevation. Masterbuild will say whether 507.2.8 still has a height miss — or 507.2.10 still has no NET cfm.
