When cheaper plumbing becomes a building risk.
Cutting the interceptor, deleting the isometric, or “using the existing vent” to save first cost is how a restaurant TI fails plumbing review — or fails the first grease inspection after C.O.

Cuts that usually come back
- No isometric. A plan view of toilets is not reviewable waste/vent. Miami-Dade checklists already ask for it.
- Grease interceptor “later.” If the menu needs Type I on the mechanical sheets, plumbing needs a grease path now — size, location, sample port, access.
- Existing stack, new load. Adding fixtures onto an undocumented riser is not VE. It is a missing fixture-unit calculation.
- Water-heater in a closet. Combustion air, pan, relief, and listing. Deleting the louver to recover square footage is a Chapter 7 / plumbing coordination miss.
- Assuming public sewer. If the street has no sewer, the job is an OSTDS screen before anyone prices underground.
Cheaper that fails twice
A downsized interceptor that “fits the room” can pass a hopeful contractor meeting and fail County and the health path. First-cost savings that buy two resubmittals are not savings.

What to send
Architectural plumbing plan, fixture list, existing riser photos on a remodel, menu / equipment schedule if food service, and whether sewer is public or on-site.
If someone just cut the interceptor or the isometric
Send the plan and the menu. Masterbuild will say what the drawings still have to show before anyone prices the VE.
