Connected amps are not the load that runs at once.
Continuous load: maximum current expected for 3 hours or more. Permanently connected is not automatically continuous. Demand factor compares maximum demand to connected load.
When adding HVAC, EVSE, or electric equipment to an existing service, ask what operates together, for how long, and what can actually be controlled. Document load-management assumptions. Do not shed loads that the Code does not allow to be shed.
