110.11 Deteriorating agents
Unless identified for the environment, conductors and equipment cannot be installed where exposed to damp or wet locations, gases, fumes, vapors or liquids, corrosive agents, or excessive temperatures. Indoor-only equipment must also be protected from weather damage during construction.
110.12 Mechanical execution of work
Electrical equipment must be installed in a professional and skillful manner. Unused openings must be effectively closed. Internal components cannot be damaged or contaminated by paint, plaster, cleaners, abrasives, corrosive residue, or other foreign material.
110.13 Mounting and cooling
Electrical equipment must be firmly secured. Equipment relying on natural airflow or convection must be installed so ventilation is not blocked. Floor-mounted equipment also needs adequate clearance for rising warm air. This page does not invent 110.26 working-space dimensions.
