IMC 301 (Part 2): Fuel Gas, Listings/Labels, Electrical, Plumbing, Fuel Types & Vibration (301.6–301.13)

All gas piping follows the IFGC. Appliances must be listed for the application and installed per MI. If spring-isolated, add supplemental restraint — snubbers, cables, or limit stops.

🧠 Plain English: Gas piping, gas-fired appliances, and venting follow the IFGC (301.6). Appliances must be listed for the application and installed per MI/report (301.7). The permanent label shows maker, model, serial, agency mark, and key ratings (301.9). Electrical wiring and controls per NFPA 70 (301.10). Plumbing connections per IPC (301.11). Match fuel and altitude; conversions only per MI (301.12). If spring-isolated, add supplemental restraint — snubbers, cables, or limit stops (301.13).

🏗️ Why It Matters: Gaps in the proof chain trigger redlines — wrong vent system, missing fuel/altitude info, springs without restraint, ambiguous clearances.

🔧 What to Show: M-001: 'Gas per IFGC. Electrical per NFPA 70. Plumbing per IPC.' M-601: Basis of Design, listing standard + edition, certification ID, fuel & altitude/derate, electrical (V-Ph-Hz, MCA/MOP), vent system listing per MI, isolation and restraint. M-501: Vent terminations/clearances, condensate, supports, restraint with MI page callouts.
