Why It Matters
Mechanical draft changes the pressure profile and failure mode of the venting system. Poor termination geometry, exhauster failure, leaking positive-pressure venting, or improper connections can discharge combustion products toward occupied areas instead of safely outdoors. This requires mechanical, architectural, electrical, life-safety, and site coordination - not a mechanical-only review.

Do not review a mechanical-draft termination by itself. Overlay it with the architectural elevation and site plan. Doors, windows, air intakes, walkways, roofs, meters, lot lines, and adjacent buildings can all control the location.
