IMC 601 is where duct-system compliance starts, but for plan review this section is really about boundaries. It controls where air is allowed to move, where return-air paths become code issues, and where contamination or life-safety conflicts are created.This is also one of those sections that gets missed because the drawings may look coordinated until you trace the actual air path.
